Dorpshuis Hoeve

Not every STS project takes place in a grand theatre. In Hoeve, a small village in the Netherlands, the local community hall inside a historic church needed a creative solution to make the most of its limited space. STS designed and built a platform that serves a dual purpose: it functions as a full stage for performances and events, but can also be hoisted up to the ceiling to free up the entire floor area for other activities.

To make this possible, STS installed a winch system with two drums, allowing the platform to be securely attached to 2×2 hoisting cables. The result is a flexible, multifunctional space where the community can switch between a seated theatre setup and an open hall within minutes. A compact solution with a big impact on how the building is used day to day.
