Project scope
The theatre of the city of Vlaardingen in the Netherlands is situated in the “stadsgehoorzaal”. The theater started in 1817 as a film-hall with the name the Harmonie. The new “Stadsgehoorzaal” opened his doors in 1952 with a new theatre venue in the former garden of the Harmonie. The front of the building was renovated in 1992 and in 2007 was the opening of the renovated theatre as we can see it today with 650 seats in the larger venue and 150 seats in the small venue. In 2018 STS renovated the flywall, existing of 37 lineshaft winches, adding x-wind detection, loadcells and a SIL3 control with a new desk. A UPS in combination with the regenerated electrical energy is used to limit the maximum deceleration during power failure. Further chainhoists are installed in the foyer as well as in combination with the chandelier. Also the control of the preset flies like the wagner is integrated in the flywall control.
