Monkey’s Journey to the West

For this show we have 12 systems for the performer flying : 8 travellers and 4 point hoists. Speeds of 4 m/s and an acceleration of 4 m/s² vertically and 2 m/s are achieved. Besides delivering and installing the systems, STS was responsible for training the actors and technicians. The show was commissioned by the Manchester Festival for the O2 in London.

This performance tells a 400 year old Chinese fable about spiritual change and growth when East and West meet. There is also a fusion of traditional disciplines such as acrobatics, song and dance with modern technology including animation and video projections.
