Beauty and the Beast
Project scope
STS provided the drive for the grand staircase for the Dutch tour of the musical Beauty and The Beast. For mobility reasons, a friction wheel has been chosen and a spring unit is depressed onto the stage floor. The operator interface consists of a joystick unit and an emergency stop.
For the Italian in Milan version we also supplied the winches and showdeck.
For Dubai we supplied a performerfly winch
For the totally renewed set of the 2021 UK tour of Beauty & the Beast, STS has supplied the show deck and automation. In the current remote working age, we have also successfully pre programmed the show and worked with the design team to previsualise the movements therefore putting the majority of the show in the system before anyone has left their respective homes. The creative team have acknowledged what a huge leap forward this is in the constantly changing landscape of scheduling for a pandemic.
