Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a spectacular celebration of love, truth, beauty and freedom. Set in the legendary Parisian nightclub around 1899, it tells the tragic love story of Christian, a young penniless poet, and Satine, the club’s most famous courtesan. Their romance blossoms against a backdrop of bohemian ideals, but is threatened by jealousy, money and a secret that could destroy everything.
STS supplied the automation, hoist installation and performer flying for this production, which is now expanding across Europe. Starting with the Dutch premiere, STS is preparing installations in Hamburg and Madrid as well. The technical package supports the show’s lavish visual style: set pieces fly in and out, the stage transforms between intimate moments and grand musical numbers, and performers take to the air in sequences that capture the intoxicating energy of the Moulin Rouge.
