Broadway meets Hawkins: Stranger Things in New York

After the success in London, Stranger Things: The First Shadow has now landed in New York — on Broadway, at the iconic Marquis Theatre. The mystery, tension and 1950s Hawkins atmosphere have crossed the ocean, and Silicon Theatre Scenery was right there to make this next chapter technically possible. For STS, it meant yet another large-scale production where engineering and storytelling go hand in hand.

Automation in the spotlight

While audiences are captivated by the story and the effects, there’s a finely tuned system of automation working behind the scenes. STS was a major supplier of the technical automation: from moving set pieces to perfectly timed transitions that bring the Upside Down to life on stage. Nothing is left to chance — every move is the result of smart engineering and precise execution.

A production of scale

On Broadway, there’s no room for error. Everything has to work, night after night. That demands not only technical expertise, but also adaptability and close collaboration with American technical teams and creatives. The STS team worked closely with the local production team to fine-tune all systems. The result? A rock-solid show, delivered with consistency and flair.

Technology that supports the story

What makes this production special is how the technology doesn’t steal the spotlight, but instead elevates the narrative. Haunting scenes, seamless transitions between dimensions, and immersive effects are all made possible by what happens backstage. And that’s where STS shines: creating invisible tech that makes the impossible seem effortless.
