A brand new, enchanting version of the musical AIDA will premiere on April 23rd, 2023, at the AFAS Circustheater in Scheveningen. This stunning production will transport audiences to ancient Egypt with its breathtaking visuals, captivating performances, and unforgettable soundtrack. STS is currently working tirelessly to elevate the technical automation of this production to new heights.
AIDA: The Musical
AIDA is a timeless tale of the growing love between Nubian princess Aida and Egyptian army captain Radames in a world where everything is against them. In Egypt, where war rages with Nubia, Captain Radames meets Aida among a group of captured women from Nubia. What he doesn’t know is that she is the daughter of the Nubian queen. The tensions between nationalities create a charged love triangle between Radames, his fiancée Amneris, and Aida. Traditions, expectations, and inner conflicts about what is right, show personal struggles that are still relevant today.
The title role in this new version of AIDA will be played by Gaia Aikman (TINA, The Lion King). Other notable cast members include April Darby (The Bodyguard, Sister Act) and Naidjim Severina (The Lion King, Kinky Boots). The performance will run for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Theater Technology in AIDA
At the moment, the STS team is working hard to perfect the technical automation of this grand production. STS has all the techniques and the right expertise to make this show a technically superior spectacle. With our specialized theater- and decor technical constructions and moving installations, we hope to make a valuable contribution once again to making AIDA: The Musical a huge success.
The previous AIDA musical attracted an impressive 1.2 million visitors in the Netherlands between 2001 and 2003.
